The power of collaboration

Dan and Sophie’s ability to collaborate, both with each other and with their patients, is another strength that sets them apart. Their shared history as elite players gives them a common language with athletes, and their complementary skill sets as physiotherapists ensure that every patient receives holistic, tailored care.

“At the end of the day, it’s about helping people do what they love,” Sophie says. “No matter their age, level of experience, injured, or just looking to prevent injuries, hockey players are a special group to work with because they’re so dedicated. Being able to be a part of their journey, helping them stay in the game, is what drives me every day.”

For hockey players looking for expert care from practitioners who truly understand the sport, Dan and Sophie are more than just physiotherapists— they’re fellow athletes, mentors, and champions of recovery.

DAN MIRECKI has 15 years of clinical experience and has served as the head physiotherapist for the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS) Women’s Hockey Program.
