Stephanie Milic
Co-Founder, APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist and Clinical Pilates Instructor
B.Physio, M.Physio (Sports), MACP
Stephanie is an experienced physiotherapist with over 18 years of expertise in Clinical Pilates and Physiotherapy. She holds a Master's degree in Sports Physiotherapy from La Trobe University, completed in 2019.
Stephanie has previously worked as a consultant physiotherapist for The Australian Ballet, where she was responsible for the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of dancers. This role provided her with extensive experience in understanding the unique biomechanical demands and injury profiles associated with dance. Prior to this, she spent nine years consulting for Tennis Australia, where she gained significant exposure to the injury management of elite junior and professional tennis players.
Stephanie's personal journey has significantly informed her clinical practice. Having undergone multiple shoulder surgeries and rehabilitation has provided her with a deeper understanding of the intricacies involved in the diagnosis, treatment, and exercise prescription for shoulder injuries. This first-hand experience has not only heightened her empathy but has also strengthened her knowledge of the requirements for successful rehabilitation, further shaping her approach to injury management.
Stephanie’s physiotherapy practice is distinguished by a strong emphasis on Clinical Pilates and exercise rehabilitation. With over a decade of experience instructing both individual and group Pilates sessions, she is dedicated to helping clients achieve functional improvements, optimize performance, and increase independence through evidence-based rehabilitation strategies. Her holistic approach is grounded in her belief that tailored exercise interventions can profoundly impact recovery and long-term health.
Stephanie’s academic background and clinical expertise are further complemented by her competitive sports experience, having competed at an elite level in both softball and track sprinting. This background in high-performance sport has cultivated her passion for injury prevention and management, and reinforced her understanding of the role physiotherapy plays in enhancing physical function and quality of life.
As a co-owner of Renew Physiotherapy, Stephanie is deeply aligned with the clinic’s core philosophy: the concept of "Renew"—to rejuvenate and strengthen individuals through targeted, personalized physiotherapy interventions. This ethos underpins her patient-centred approach, where she integrates clinical expertise with a comprehensive, individualized plan for rehabilitation, fostering optimal health outcomes for every client.

I was inspired to pursue physiotherapy after experiencing injuries as a young athlete. The expertise and reassurance of my physiotherapist, combined with my passion for the human body and helping others, motivated me to follow this career path.

I love spending time outdoors in nature with my husband, two young boys, and our Aussie Shepherd. We all enjoy mountain biking together (though I suspect I won’t be able to keep up with them for much longer!). I also have a passion for gardening and love trying new restaurants with friends.

Andrew and I founded Renew Physiotherapy in 2012, driven by our passion for physiotherapy and a vision to create a positive, uplifting environment for both our staff and clients. Our goal was to create a space where clients not only received exceptional care but also looked forward to their appointments, in a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.

Having personally experienced significant shoulder injuries, I have a special interest in the assessment, treatment, and more specifically the rehabilitation of shoulder injuries. Additionally, my time at The Australian Ballet provided me with invaluable insight into foot and ankle rehabilitation, an area I now enjoy integrated into my treatment and exercise programs.
